<p class="has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph"><em>French toast is delicious, but it&#8217;s even better when it&#8217;s <strong>French Toast Fondue</strong>! Cubes of bread dipped in milk and eggs fried in less than a minute in a fondue pot make this breakfast more of an experience than just a regular meal. Be sure to dip it in the Maple Butter before you pop each bite into your mouth!</em></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><em>A note though, if you have small children, this can be very dangerous as the oil gets <strong>extremely hot</strong> and they <strong>should be supervised AT ALL TIMES</strong>. </em></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Popular in the 1970&#8217;s, fondue is making a comeback.<br>I loved this recipe when I was a kid, so I had to buy a fondue pot to specifically make this recipe. <br>Be sure to keep an eye out because more recipes using this small appliance are on the horizon.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img decoding="async" width="1000" height="1500" src="https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/French-Toast-Fondue-PIN9.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-24607" srcset="https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/French-Toast-Fondue-PIN9.jpg 1000w, https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/French-Toast-Fondue-PIN9-200x300.jpg 200w, https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/French-Toast-Fondue-PIN9-453x680.jpg 453w, https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/French-Toast-Fondue-PIN9-768x1152.jpg 768w, https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/French-Toast-Fondue-PIN9-150x225.jpg 150w" sizes="(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px" /></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What is French Toast Fondue?</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Similar to the breakfast recipe you&#8217;re used to, we use French bread cut up into cubes, eggs, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon then dip it into the fondue pot where oil is heated to 375°F.<br>Each piece of bread is fried for less than a minute, cooled, and then dipped in the maple butter to enjoy!</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img decoding="async" width="680" height="453" src="https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Maple-Butter-Process-Collage.png" alt="" class="wp-image-24612" srcset="https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Maple-Butter-Process-Collage.png 680w, https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Maple-Butter-Process-Collage-300x200.png 300w, https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Maple-Butter-Process-Collage-150x100.png 150w" sizes="(max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px" /></figure>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img decoding="async" width="680" height="453" src="https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/French-Toast-Fondue-Process-Collage.png" alt="" class="wp-image-24596" srcset="https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/French-Toast-Fondue-Process-Collage.png 680w, https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/French-Toast-Fondue-Process-Collage-300x200.png 300w, https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/French-Toast-Fondue-Process-Collage-150x100.png 150w" sizes="(max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px" /></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What kind of fondue pot do I need?</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">I have purchased <a href="https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/french-toast-fondue/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener nofollow">this one </a>and I really like it. I highly suggest purchasing an electric appliance because you can do so much more with it.<br>For this particular recipe, you&#8217;ll need a pot where you can heat the oil up to 375° so that it can cook the eggs and sausage.<br>While there are other fondue pots on the market, using one for a chocolate fondue that uses a tea light or sterno for example wouldn&#8217;t be sufficient for this recipe. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img decoding="async" width="1000" height="1500" src="https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/French-Toast-Fondue-PIN12.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-24610" srcset="https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/French-Toast-Fondue-PIN12.jpg 1000w, https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/French-Toast-Fondue-PIN12-200x300.jpg 200w, https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/French-Toast-Fondue-PIN12-453x680.jpg 453w, https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/French-Toast-Fondue-PIN12-768x1152.jpg 768w, https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/French-Toast-Fondue-PIN12-150x225.jpg 150w" sizes="(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px" /></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How do I do it?</h2>

<ol class="wp-block-list"><li>To begin, push the fondue fork into the crust side of a bread cube. <br>Using the crust will help hold the bread on the fork when cooking.</li><li>Dip the bread into the egg mixture to completely coat, but do not soak. <br>Soaking the bread will make it to heavy, and it could fall off the fork and also take longer to cook. </li><li>Gently place the fork into the pot and let it sit for 30-45 seconds turning it over if necessary to brown both sides.<br>It will be completely cooked when the bread is a golden brown in color.</li><li>When cooking the sausage, pierce it with the fork through the casings on both sides, if possible. <br>Cook for about 1 minute when sausage has browned.</li><li>Transfer items to individual plates to cool and to enjoy with silverware.<br>Then dip the bread cubes in the maple butter.</li></ol>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img decoding="async" width="1000" height="1500" src="https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/French-Toast-Fondue-PIN1.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-24599" srcset="https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/French-Toast-Fondue-PIN1.jpg 1000w, https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/French-Toast-Fondue-PIN1-200x300.jpg 200w, https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/French-Toast-Fondue-PIN1-453x680.jpg 453w, https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/French-Toast-Fondue-PIN1-768x1152.jpg 768w, https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/French-Toast-Fondue-PIN1-150x225.jpg 150w" sizes="(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px" /></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Fondue Etiquette</h2>

<ul class="wp-block-list"><li><strong>Use the fondue forks that come with the appliance. <br></strong>These forks are specifically made for fondue and are small enough so that up to 8 people can cook their food at one time.</li><li><strong>Do not eat directly off of the fondue fork.</strong><br>It will be hot and could burn your mouth. People should transfer the cooked food to their own plate and be supplied with individual utensils to eat with. </li><li><strong>Do not double dip.</strong><br>Give everyone at the table their own dishes of Maple Butter to dip into.<br>Also, do not put a partially eaten bit of food back on the fondue fork to put back into the pot. </li><li><strong>Rest your fondue fork against the side of the pot</strong>.<br>Do not overcrowd and try to give everyone enough space to cook. This will help prevent food from falling off while cooking.<br></li></ul>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img decoding="async" width="1000" height="1500" src="https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/French-Toast-Fondue-PIN2.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-24600" srcset="https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/French-Toast-Fondue-PIN2.jpg 1000w, https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/French-Toast-Fondue-PIN2-200x300.jpg 200w, https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/French-Toast-Fondue-PIN2-453x680.jpg 453w, https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/French-Toast-Fondue-PIN2-768x1152.jpg 768w, https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/French-Toast-Fondue-PIN2-150x225.jpg 150w" sizes="(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px" /></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">TIPS</h2>

<ul class="wp-block-list"><li>When enjoying fondue, it is best to put the pot in the center of the table on top of a trivet, that way everyone can easily access it.</li><li>Cook no more than 8 pieces of food at a time.</li><li>As the meal progresses, it may be necessary to leave the food in the pot a little longer than directed to completely cook or the heat may need to be adjusted slightly.</li><li>When removing anything you&#8217;ve cooked from the pot, place it on an individual plate to cool before dipping it in the butter to eat as <strong>IT WILL BE EXTREMELY HOT</strong>.</li></ul>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Breakfast Recipes</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">French Toast Fondue is not the kind of meal where people can eat right away and become full quickly. It takes time, and you&#8217;ll be eating in small bites, so I suggest having an assortment of foods on hand so people can graze as they&#8217;re cooking.<br><br>Muffins are good to serve, like these <a href="https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/day-349-chocolate-chocolate-chip-muffins/">Chocolate Chocolate Chip Muffins</a> and <a href="https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/apple-streusel-muffins/">Apple Streusel Muffins</a>.<br>Or try these easy <a href="https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/cinnamon-sugar-palmiers/">Cinnamon Sugar Palmiers</a>, and this <a href="https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/pear-cream-cheese-danish/">Pear Cream Cheese Danish</a>.<br><br>Of course, you NEED to have some <a href="https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/baking-bacon/">Bacon</a> on hand! This recipe for it is easy. You can also make this <a href="https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/cajun-sugared-bacon/">Cajun Candied Bacon</a> to add a little bit of spice to your meal.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">You can&#8217;t go wrong with fresh fruit. <br>I love to have assorted fresh berries on hand and even a <a href="https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/214947/perfect-summer-fruit-salad/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">fruit salad</a>.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Need eggs? Make this <a href="https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/denver-scrambled-braid/">Denver Scrambled Breakfast Braid</a> or a <a href="https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/meat-lovers-pizza-frittata/">Meat Lover’s Pizza Frittata</a>.<br>You can prepare this <a href="https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/mexican-breakfast-casserole/">Mexican Breakfast Casserole</a> the night before and put into the oven in the morning to bake.<br>Also, these <a href="https://bellyfull.net/muffin-tin-breakfast-frittatas/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">egg muffins</a> would be a fun finger food to have on hand.<br></p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img decoding="async" width="1000" height="1500" src="https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/French-Toast-Fondue-PIN4.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-24602" srcset="https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/French-Toast-Fondue-PIN4.jpg 1000w, https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/French-Toast-Fondue-PIN4-200x300.jpg 200w, https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/French-Toast-Fondue-PIN4-453x680.jpg 453w, https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/French-Toast-Fondue-PIN4-768x1152.jpg 768w, https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/French-Toast-Fondue-PIN4-150x225.jpg 150w" sizes="(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px" /></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Fondue Recipes</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">As I said, fondue is making a comeback, and I&#8217;m super excited to add more delicious recipes for breakfast, lunch and dinner to the site. In the meantime, here are some more you might be interested in.<br>A <a href="https://www.foodiewithfamily.com/roasted-garlic-artichoke-goat-cheese-fondue/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">cheese fondue</a> would be good to have as an appetizer before you serve dinner for a party.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Want to have an intimate dinner for just the two of you? <a href="https://www.thestarvingchefblog.com/2020/12/fondue-night-at-home-for-two.html" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">This recipe</a> would be perfect for a date night at home.<br>Having a <a href="https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/meat-fondue" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">variety of sauces to dip meat in</a> can definitely add to the experience, too. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Of course, one needs to indulge in a fondue dessert, especially if there&#8217;s chocolate involved!<br>Having a <a href="https://barefeetinthekitchen.com/dessert-fondue-board/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">dessert fondue board</a> with an assortment of dippers is definitely the way to go.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">I think once you give fondue a try, you&#8217;ll be hooked, and want to incorporate it into your entertaining and family meals!</p>

I have made it with the raw egg, and have not had any health concerns or issues, but knowing that people do not like to consume raw ingredients, I give you the option to omit it. Personally, I prefer the maple butter <em>with</em> the egg as it is creamier and super delicious when the bread is dipped into it, but it&#8217;s just as yummy without it, too. <em><strong>Also, please know that the nutritional information is most likely not accurate as it has been computed using the optional egg for the maple butter, and the entire amount of oil will not be ingested.</strong></em></span></div></div>
