Rose, I haven&#039;t used the caramel bits in this recipe, so I&#039;m not sure they would melt the way we&#039;d want them to while baking. I&#039;d stick to the caramels I used in the recipe just in case. I&#039;d hate for you to try it and not have it work out after you&#039;ve spent your money and time making them.

There is no problem freezing caramel.  I make cookies with caramel filling and have frozen them for many, many years.  In fact, I have yet to find a cookie that you cannot freeze.  All my cookies are frozen before served as I do them several weeks ahead.  I will be adding these to my baking list this year.  Yum!]]></description>
