I also have been making the Cape Cod Oatmeal cookies since I was a newlywed 47 years ago because it is my husbands favorite cookie . These are the best . On occasion I have substituted craisins for the raisins and they are delicious.

When I first got married I made them for my new husband, who quickly told me he didn't like oatmeal cookies, but he tried them anyway and has been eating them ever since, we will be married 40 yrs. this July. Just try the recipe, they will quickly become a family favorite!
