Thanks, Margaret, I will definitely be checking it out! I can understand about the high fructose corn syrup. So many people are staying away from it. There's got to be something that you'd be able to find online that doesn't contain it.
Thanks for letting me know.
I think after the 365 is over I may attempt to recreate some of the recipe that didn't turn out so well and this will be on that list.

I found one that looks worth trying, the only problem is that it uses chocolate syrup, which I won't buy (high fructose corn syrup) and don't really have time to make. Maybe someday...
Here it is, anyway:
http://cookingtipoftheday.blogspot.com/2009/11/recipe-baked-chocolate-custard.html

Margaret, I definitely have to agree with you! I was SO disappointed in this recipe and was really looking forward to eating it.
I also question the testing of that recipe along with a few others I found in that book. They weren't baking as they were supposed to or didn't taste as they were described. I KNOW I'm not the world's best baker, but I can follow a recipe and I know I do make mistakes, but some recipes that I made were just flat out WRONG and I was very surprised they had been included.!
I would search Epicurious or the Food Network. There's bound to be a chocolate custard on one of those sites and one that tastes good as well! Good luck!!
Please let me know how it goes!!

I've made this exact recipe - the chocolate just floats to the top and forms a grainy layer. Yuck! Did anyone test that recipe before printing it?? I'm searching for a good baked chocolate custard recipe -- I want to get some good eggs and milk into my family's dessert.
