Natalie, sorry about the delayed response. Yes, you can freeze the applesauce. Allow it to come to room temperature before transferring it to either resealable freezer bag(s) or freeze-safe container. I've read that it will keep in the freezer for various lengths of time, but I'm using it within 6 months. To thaw, allow it to defrost overnight in the refrigerator. Enjoy!

Hi, have you made this in the slow cooker since the original post? And roughly how many cups does this yield? I see it says 8 people but everyone portions differently! Thanks :)

I'm sorry, Caroline, I don't have any idea. I have never canned anything, so couldn't give you an answer. :-(
Good luck in your search!

Saufitay,
I serve it in a bowl to my family. We also enjoy it as a side dish at dinner some nights.
Just as it is is the best way to eat it, I think!

Hi! This looks amazing and I can't wait to try it! I do have a question, though, and I can't find a square answer anywhere on the innerwebs. If I make this applesauce (or apple butter, pumpkin butter, etc) in the crock pot, can it still be canned? If so, how? I'm dying to make our local apples last all year! :o)
