Cathy, what a wonderful memory, and I LOVE that you only buy them at Christmas! Actually, chocolate covered cherries mean more to me this time of year as well because of my grandparents. That hot cocoa sounded delicious – I hope you enjoyed it!
And I love that you’ve continued such wonderful traditions with your granddaughters over the years. That truly warms my heart, Cathy. What wonderful memories you’ve created for everyone.

Ms. Lynne I am 63, and still remember as a little girl, at Christmas Mama would bring home Brach’s Chocolate Covered Cherries at CHristmas. I know I am weird and they are available all year round now, but I only biy them at Christmas, now thye come in a brown box but I think the white box really was a subconscience way to say snow, winter CHRISTMAS.

My daughter came home yesterday and she had bought these packages of Melting Santas for garnishing hot cocoa. So I am thinking that this cocoa, with the top a big cloud of whipped cream, one of your chocolate covered cherries on top, with maybe 3 Santas around the whipped cream in some mad mad King of the Mountain but the winners are us!! I live with my single mother daughter with her 3 college students 20, 22, 24 and Santa still comes, we still read the night before Christmas and then have hot cocoa and leave cocoa, a small shot, and some cookies or candy (homemade) and this year, maybe some cookies and Mom’s Pineapple Candy.

By the way, I travelled the world in the Navy and I stayed at a beautiful German Grandmother’s B&B (back then truly a room in their house lol who is gone now, who gave me her recipe for Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte (Black Forest Cake) and it is ‘licious! SHould you like a recipe.
